Abstract

From Preface: This document prepared in the State Planning Board presents an economic review covering important trends and activities in the different sectors of the State's economy during the year 1974-75. While the period covered by the review generally relates to the financial year, in the case of agriculture the reference period is the agricultural year. Wherever official data were available for the full calendar year 1975, they have been taken into account while discussing activities of particular sectors. The chapter on 'General Review' has attempted to summarise the major trends both in the national as well as in the State economy. This chapter has also briefly dealt with the progress achieved by the State Government in the implementation of important items covered by the Twenty Point Economic Programme.
