In the context of the 1990 training cycle, a need was felt for shifting the focus of the programme. A large number of primary schools in .almost all the States/Union Territories had been supplied with a variety of essential educational materials under the scheme of “Operation Blackboard (OB)”. The teachers in these schools needed training programmes to make effective use of these materials. It was?' therefore, decided that for the 1990 training cycle, the PMOST (General) should be converted into PMOST-OB, and a fresh training package should be prepared to Impart skills to the teachers in the effective handling of materials supplied under OB.en_US
