Abstract

From Foreword: The attached 'Paper on Village and Small Industries’ has been prepared in the Planning Commission mainly with a view to generating some thoughts and seeking guidance of the Consultative Committee of Parliament on the issues raised. The suggestions/ recommendations contained in the paper are not the conclusive decisions or recommendations of the Planning Commission. The various issues incorporated therein have' emanated from different quarters and the views expressed at different fora. A discussion on these by this Committee would help the Planning Commission in formulating its Strategy for the growth of Village and Small Industries during the Eighth Plan period.
