Statistical Abstract of Maharashtra State 1987-88

Abstract

From Preface: The Statistical Abstract for the year 1987-88 (both in Marathi and in English) is the twenty-third in the series. It gives data on socio-economic characteristics of the State as far as possible for the year 1987-88 and for the latest year when information for 1987- 88 is not available. From the issue of 1982-83 and 1983-84 (combined) the form of this publication is some what modified so as to take account the recommendations of the Central Statistical Organisation, New Delhi in preparation of State Statistical Abstracts. For facilitating reference to the tables in the previous issue the serial numbers of the tables as given in the previous issue are also given in the bracket after the serial numbers of the tables in the present publication. A map of Maharashtra State has been included in this issue. It is hoped that this publication will be found useful as a reference book by those interested in studying the socio economic aspects of Maharashtra and its districts.
