Revitalizing Technical Education. Report of the Review Committee on AICTE (U R Rao Committee Report)

Abstract

The Committee has reviewed the mandate and the functioning o f the AICTE as objectively as possible and has made a number o f recommendations, which in its opinion, are needed for enabling the AICTE to fulfill its statutory responsibilities and to ensure high quality technical education in a dynamically fast changing globalized world. The review committee has prepared a comprehensive set of recommendations including a few which maybe obvious, but are likely to be overlooked for that reason. The Committee hopes that the Ministry of Human Resource Development will carefully examine these recommendations and take early steps to implement them.
