'VISION 2020' document of Government of Andhra Pradesh has put forth the Vision and Mission of the State for achieving total Literacy by 2005. The New Millennium has brought in new perspectives at the National and International levels. The framework of action for EFA adopted by the Global conference of 2000 in Dakar presents a renewed focus for action to provide Education for All. Keeping in step with the National goals, the State has stepped up its efforts in Universalization of Elementary Education.en_US
