From Foreword: As this Report for the year 1999-2000 rolls out of my table I see it being special on many counts. This is the first Annual Report to come out after the turn of the millennium, first ever penultimate annual Report for the Phase I districts, first ever Annual Report which contains articulated concerns and evenful activities relatively of far reaching significance like, for instance, sustainability of developmental activities in Post-DPEP Period, Mid-term Assessment Survey in Phase II districts, impressive strides on access, retention, pedagogy, S.F.G, Planning and Management and Research and Evaluation.
