dc.description.abstractFrom Preface: The Ministry of Human Resource Development is the nodal agency for collection, compilation and dissemination of educational statistics in the country. It collects, consolidates and provides information on quantitative aspects of education to meet the needs of educational planning, policy making and evaluation. The Statistics Bureau in the Ministry brings out various annual statistical publications. For the first time an attempt has been made to bring a publication exclusively for Central Institutions. The publication ''Higher Education Statistics of Central Institutions'' contains statistical data on Institution-wise data on important educational indicators such as stream-wise and level-wise enrolment, number of Teachers, Pupil Teacher Ratio, share of Girls and students belonging to SC & ST categories.en_US
