| Abstract: | The Primary stage consists of Classes I-V, i.e. of 5 years duration in 21 States/UT's. States/UT's where the primary stage consists of classes other than I-V are Assam, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Nagaland, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Goa, Daman and Diu, Lakshadweep, Mizoram and Mahe region of Pondicherry. Of these, in Gujarat the primary stage consists of classes I-VII with no middle stage; In Meghalaya, it consists of classes A,B,I,II and III; in Nagaland, Pre-primary to IV in others the primary stage consists of classes I-IV. |
