Abstract

From Foreword: I have great pleasure in introducing this first Volume of the series “Educational Studies and Investigations” which will be brought out under the auspices of the National Council of Educational Research and Training. The main object of this series is to publicise the findings of educational research in India. Such publication in a central series, it is hoped, will assist in giving a wider recognition to the research in education that is being carried out and lead to a greater use of its findings in educational practice and ultimately to a raising of its standards.
