From Introduction: In our investigations we were repeatedly confronted with the comment that not only the society but the university as well, is challenged to emerge rapidly from its more traditional ways into the last third of the twentieth century. The Indian university, apart from extension beginnings in agriculture, correspondence study, short courses for teachers, and some evening colleges, seems little involved in the tasks of national or state planning and development. The over-all objective of this exploratory study was to find out how university resources could best serve the people of Rajasthan.en_US
