Enrolment Trends in States 1968-69 - 1978-79

Abstract

From Introduction: This study relates to the enrolment trends during the last decade (1969-79) in various States and Union Territories in various classes constituting elementary stage of education, corresponding to the school going population of the age groups (6—11) and (11—14). The data contained in this brochure have been compiled from the information supplied annually by the State Governments in the prescribed forms up to the year 1975-76. The data relating to 1976-77 has been compiled from the provisional statistics published in Ministry of Education’s publication entitled “Selected Educational Statistics”. The data relating to 1977-78 (Likely achievement) and 1978-79 (targets) have been compiled on the basis of the information collected during the annual plan discussions.
