| Abstract: | From Introduction: This publication relates to the growth of enrolment during the last four decades (1950-51 to 1993-94) in different stages of school education comprising Primary, Upper Primary and Secondary/Senior Secondary Classes corresponding to the school going population of the age groups 6-11, 11-14 and 14-18 years in States/UTs. The data contained in this publication have been compiled from "Education in India" publications for the years 1950-51 to 1992-93. The data contained in Education in India publications is based on information received from State/UT Governments. The enrolment data for 1993-94 has been taken from the publication "VI All India Educational Survey (VOL. IV)". |
