Abstract

From Preface: The current issue of Statistical Hand Book is nineteenth in the series. It is a handy substitute and a supplement to this Organisation's main Publication "Statistical Abstract of Punjab 1988” . It presents a concise factual account of social and economic trends in the State based on currently available data. It also includes charts depicting the trends in important aspects of the economy for enabling better understanding of the time series data. Derivatives have also been given, wherever possible, so as to enhance the utility of the book. It is expected that new edition of the Statistical Hand Book containing up-to-date information will prove useful to administrators. Planners, Scholars and all those who are interested in the socio-economic welfare of the State.
