Abstract: From Overview: The National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration, formerly known as the National Staff College for Educational Planners and Administrators, was established by the Government of India on December 31, 1970 under the Ministry of Education and Social Welfare, on the recommendation of the Education Commission (1964-66) and the ‘Working Party on Educational Planning, Administration and Evaluation’ of the Planning Commission in 1969. The objectives of the Institute are to undertake research in educational planning and administration, provide training and consultancy services in this field and arrange for the orientation of senior educational administrators from the Centre and the States, and to collaborate with other countries especially of the Asian region.
