Report of The English Review Committee

Abstract

From Foreword: Some time ago the University Grants Commission appointed a Review Committee in English under the Chairmanship of Prof. G.C. Banerjee. The committee has made a careful study of the different aspects relating to teaching and research in English Language and literature. The Commission is grateful to the Chairman and members of the committee for the considerable time and attention they have given to the work of the committee and in preparation of the report. I have no doubt that the re;port will be of real value and utility and wide interest not only to teachers and students of the subject but also to the academic community generally.
