Report of The Wardha Education Committee of the Central Advisory Board of Education 1939

Abstract

The Central Advisory Board of Education at its meeting held in January 1938 appointed a Committee under the chairmanship of the Hon’ble Mr. B. G. Kher. Premier and Education Minister, Government of Bombay, to examine the scheme of educational reconstruction incorporated in the Wardha Scheme in the light of the Wood-Abbott Report on General and Vocational Education and other relevant documents, and to make recommendations. This Committee submitted its report to the Board on the 3rd December 1938. During the consideration of this Report, which was generally adopted by the Board, certain issues emerged such as the co-ordination of the ‘basic’ system with higher education, the ways and means to finance it, etc., which in the opinion of the Board required further examination.
