| Abstract: | Health and education are the critical sectors for achieving overall equitable human development in the country. India’s health spending (4.8% of GDP) and education spending (4.1% of GDP) are much lower than the spending of Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) member countries. The private sector can bridge the investment deficit and improve the efficiency and outreach of service delivery. However, there are some challenging sector issues that constrain its ability to enter through public–private partnership (PPP) modalities. |
