Abstract: From Appointment of The Committee: The tribal people inhabiting the north-eastern region of India comprising Nagaland NEFA, Manipur and the Hill areas of Assam have for some time been feeling the need for educational advancement. Until recently, facilities for higher education in the region were extremely meagre. Further, people in these areas have also been anxious to bring about a fuller integration with the rest of India.
