Abstract

From Foreword: To bring about effective planned development in all areas, the utilisation of Statistical data at the district level has become extremely important. Unless detailed planning is done for any Scheme with specific reference to socio-economic condition prevailing in the field implementation is bound to suffer. A planner at any level should be well equipped with adequate information on various administrative as well as development units such as Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Education and other sectors so as to make a critical study of the problems. In this context “The District Statistical Hand Book, 1995” will be of immense help In preparation of Sectoral Plan & Programmes. Apart from some salient features the up-to-date demographic, agricultural, infrastructural and other important characterstics of each Block in Sonepur district have been incorporated in this booklet.
