Abstract

From Foreword: This volume brings together eighty eight documents regarding the organisation and development of higher education in the state of Kerala. Given the enormous amount of material available on this subject, this collection is not exhaustive or complete. Its aim has been twofold. First, to trace the historical development of education through the compilation of important government sources and secondly to mark the significant stages in the evolution of higher education as reflected in the administrative measures undertaken by the State. In the process it seeks to fill a void in the extant literature on the history of education in Kerala.
