dc.description.abstractThe Department of Public Instruction (DPI) in Karnataka is headed by the Commissioner of Public Instruction (CPI). Each of the stages of education like primary, secondary, adult education etc. is looked after by a Director of Public Instruction. There are four divisions in the state and at each of the divisional headquarters there is a Joint Director of Public Instruction (JDPI). There are 21 districts and each of the districts has a Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) as the administrative head.en_US
