From Foreword: The present Statistical Abstract of Haryana, 1989-90 is the twenty-fourth in the series issued annually by the Economic and Statistical Organisation. It contains comprehensive latest available statistics on almost all socio-economic aspects of the State alongwith corresponding statistics for the last several years. I hope that the information contained in this book will be of immense use not only for assessing the progress of the State in different fields of activity but will also provide useful base-line data for formulating future development plans and policies.
