Abstract

From Preface: The Department of Economics & Statistics has been publishing “Statistics for Planning” from 1972 onwards and this issue is 8th of such series. All efforts have been taken to make available latest data (primary and secondary) relating to various sectors of Kerala Economy. With a view to help the District. Block and Panchayat level planners to implement their schemes, emphasis is given to present maximum possible lower level data. I am sure that this publication would be of immense help to planners to formulate 10th Five Year Plan too. This publication is brought out with active co-operation and support of the Statistical cells and authorities of various departments in the State. Suggestions for further improvement in the content, layout and scope of this publication are most welcome.
