Report on The State Policy on Higher Education 2011 (Kerala)

Abstract

From Foreword: The Kerala State Higher Education Council is engaged in formulating a policy on higher education for the State. With this in view the Council constituted a Committee of which Prof. U.R. Ananthamurthy, former vice-chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University, was the Chairman. The Committee prepared a draft report which ms placed in the public domain for discussion. The copies of the report were extensively distributed to academics, educational experts, political leaders, teachers and students for eliciting their opinions and suggestions. The Council also organised discussions with teachers and student organisations. The suggestions emanated from these exchanges were considered by the Committee and changes were introduced wherever necessary. The revised draft was further discussed and approved by the Executive Committee and Governing Council. The report was then submitted to the Government.
