A Report June 2003: Department of State Educational Research & Training (DSERT) (Karnataka)

Abstract

From Preface: This brief report fulfills a long felt need of the Department as it acts as a comprehensive documentation of the activities of the Department of State Educational Research and Training (DSERT). The DSERT has come a long way since its inception in 1964 as the State Institute of Education (SIE).The department has grown in stature and size. The DSERT now encompasses several academic units and also has the logistical support of six Colleges of Teacher Education (CTEs) in secondary education sector and 20 District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) - in elementary education sector, to support its activities. There are also the structures of Block Resource Centers (BRCs) and Cluster Resource Centers (CRCs) to implement the in service programs of DSERT at the field level.
