Abstract

From Preface: This publication is twentieth and the last one in the series entitled "Education in Universities in India" giving a statistical survey of the progress of higher education in Universities, deemed universities and institutions of national importance in the country during the year 1968-69. It consists of statistical survey followed by statistical tables on the important aspects of higher education in the country. The information contained in this publication is mainly factual and no attempt has been made to draw any general conclusions. It is hoped that educationists, research scholars and others interested in higher education will find the publication useful.
