dc.description.abstractThe Karnataka Knowledge Commission set up a Study Group to evaluate the current status of medical education and make recommendations for the orderly growth of educational programmes in the State, keeping in mind societal needs as well as the advancement of academic medicine and research. In this Report they have presented a graphic account of the history of medical education in Karnataka and highlighted several important issues in the training of physicians including objectives, methodologies, training of teachers, research, evaluation methods and above all, sensitisation of physicians to community needs. The Report also contains a survey of the current procedures for the selection of students and fee fixation.en_US
