Dadra and Nagar-Haveli Draft Annual Plan 1983-84

Abstract

From Introduction: The Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli is situated near the western coast adjacent to Valsad District of Gujarat State, Its area is 491 sq.k.ms. Though the rest of the India was liberated from British Rule in 1947, this Territory continued under Portuguese regime till 1954. However, the territory was administered by the people themselves between 2nd August, 1954 to 10th August, 1961, On 11th August, 1961 this Territory was merged with the rest of the Union of India and since then is a centrally administered territory.
