dc.description.abstractFrom General Information: The District derived its name Nizamabad from the Nizam of Hyderabad, Asaf Jahi VI who ruled Deccan during 18th century A.D. Originally the District was called Indur - Supposed to have originated from the name of the Kind Indra Datta who seeks to have flourished in this region during 5th century A.D. Indur became a District during 1876 A.D. When the districts in the Nizam's Dominion were re-organized at the time of the Prime Ministership of Sri Salarjung-I. The District in its new shape was Christened as Nizamabad in 1905.en_US
