dc.description.abstractFrom Secondary Education Commission: The Commission was appointed by the Government of India in 1952 under the Chairmanship of Dr. A. Lakshmanswami Mudaliar. A reasonably uniform procedure should be devised for the selection and appointment of teachers for all types of schools. In all privately managed institutions and in schools maintained by local boards there should be a small Selection Committee entrusted with the responsibility of recruiting the staff, with the headmaster as an ex-officio member.en_US
