Abstract

From Preface: The Dte. of Eco. & Stat., being the Nodel Agency for collection, compilation, analysis and presentation of Statistical data in respect of Delhi, has been publishing the collected information in the form of various publications and periodic reports. Most of the publications contain data for a particular year and some like Statistical Handbook cover data for a number of years. Continuous Time-Series data for a large number of Socio-economic parameters was not Compiled and so far its need was being felt for quite a long time. To fill up this gap, an attempt has been made for the first time to publish 20 years Time-Series data for Delhi in the form of the present publication entitled 'Statistical Abstract' on the lines of the publication of the similar title of Central Statistical Organization Govt. of India. The Time Series data in this publication covers the 20 year period from 1974 to 1993. The Abstract covers twenty- three subjects in as many Chapters. Each Chapter has further been divided in many tables.Source of each table has been indicated at the end of the table. We intend to further enlarge the subject coverage in the subsequent editions of the Statistical Abstract.
