Abstract: From Foreword: The University Grants Commission, appointed a committee to study the examination system of central universities and make suitable recommendations for examination reform, under the chairmanship of Professor F. C. Auluck of the Department of Physics, Delhi University, The committee has prepared a report which would be of interest and utility not only to the central universities but also to other universities and institutions generally. The Commission is grateful to the chairman and the members of the committee for the time and attention they gave to this work and for their report and recommendation.
