Abstract: From This is the twenty-third annual report of the Department of Public Libraries since it was constituted in January, 1961, The portfolio of Public Libraries was held by Sri P. Ananda Gajapathi Raju, Hon’ble Minister for Education and Public Libraries. The post of the Director of Public Libraries was heId by Sri G. Manohara Rao, Additional Director of School Education (in full additional charge) from 1-3-1983 to 7-9-1983 and Sri M.V. Venkata Reddy from 8-9-1983. The names of the officers who held the other Gazetted posts in the Department are furnished in Annexure.
