Abstract

From Foreword: The current issue of '‘Statistical Hand Book, Assam, 1994’’ is the twenty seventh in the series. It seeks to present in a concise form factual information relating to various sectors of the economy of the State. In addition, for facilitating comparison with other states and the country as a v/hole, a few statistical tables incorporating a few key indicators have also been included. Every efforts have been made to present the latest available data covering up to 1993-94 in the Handbook. However in case of non-availability of such data in a few cases, last years published data have been repeated.
