Abstract: From Foreword: The main agricultural strategy of the Govt. is to increase national agricultural production through various intensive agricultural programme. In this process the farmer including his family members has the pivotal role to play. As the agricultural technology is advancing fast, it is established that training farmer and his family members in the package of improved farm practices is an essential first step in modernising agriculture. Thus, in order to pass on the latest technology to farmer and his family members at the quickest possible time the Govt, of India launched the scheme of ''Farmers Training and Education’’ in 1966-67 which has so far covered 138 districts in the country.
