Abstract: The rapid expansion of the education has created a number of challenging problems. The schools could not be properly equipped in terms of building educational accessories. About 60% Primary Schools, 50% of Middle Schools and 30% of Secondary Schools and 20% Higher Secondary Schools and teachers quarters are without proper buildings. The requirement of fund to clear such backlog has been assessed at about 35 crores in the 8th Five Year Plan. Sparse and scattered population is a particular problem for the State of Arunachal Pradesh. There are about 1209 such widely scattered inhabitation having no schooling facilities with population generally below 200 and in cases even below 100.
