Abstract: Systematic efforts are needed for the qualitative Improvement of schools. For this purpose, it is necessary to grade the schools, on the basis of objective evaluation While deciding the grade of a school, the criteria given in the booklet are to be used. The Principal of the school can evaluate his school on his own with' the help of these criteria. He will be in a position to know the requirements and shortcomings of his school. This information will be useful for the Institutional planning so as to make efforts for qualitative improvement as well as objective inspection of the school in future. The officers concerned will verify the gradation of the school arrived at by the principal.
