District Human Development Report - Mysore 2008

Abstract

This includes documenting comprehensively all aspects of human development including education, health, income, poverty, employment, gender issues and governance. The report is of considerable importance to the local-level planners, policy makers, development administrators and institutions - governmental and non-governmental involved in the formulation of bottom-level development programs. This report is particularly useful to the members of Grama panchayats,Taluk panchayats and Zilla panchayats as they get enlightened with the knowledge of the concept and dimensions of human development which in turn would enable them collectively to formulate more meaningful and effective programme for all-round human development in the district. This report is also useful to the State government as it helps ascertain the socio-economic position of Mysore District vis-à-vis the other districts in the State.
