The data used for preparing the present report is based both on primary and secondary sources. A primary survey has been conducted during March- May, 2008 in Hoshiarpur district. In the survey, 50 Primary sampling units were taken. From the list of all the villages and urban wards, 40 rural and 10 urban wards were selected by multi stage stratified sampling technique.
