Education in India 1988-89 Volume - 1 (S)

Abstract

From Preface: " Education in India" is brought out annually by the Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development. The publication contains All India and statewise statistics, as well as a brief survey of the educational activities in the country. The publication is brought out in five volumes Vol. I (S ) containing the numerical data of school education, Vol.1(C) the numerical data of college education. Vol.II(S) the financial data for school education,Vol. II(C) the financial data for non-affiliated institutions of higher education and Volume III examination results of matriculation and higher levels. The present publication Vol.I(S) relates to the year 1988-89. The entire publication is divided into two parts. Part-I contains an abstract and a general survey of the developments in the field of education at the Centre and in States during the year 1988-89. Part-II comprises state-wise statistical tables based on the information collected from the States and Union Territories through forms ES-I(S).
