Education in India 1987-88 Volume - 1 (S)

Abstract

From Preface: "Education in India" is brought out annually by the Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development. The publication contains All India and statewise statistics, as well as a brief survey of the educational activities in the country. The publication is brought out in four volumes Vol. I ( S ) containing the numerical data of school education, Vol.1(C) the numerical data of college education. Vol.II the financial data and Volume III examination results of matriculation and higher levels. The present publication Vol.I(S) relates to the year 1987-88. The entire publication is divided into two parts. Part-I contains an abstract and a general survey of the developments in the field of education at the Centre and in States during the year 1987-88. Part-II comprises state-wise statistical tables based on the information collected from the States and Union Territories through forms E S - I ( S ).
