Education in India 1985-86 Volume 1(S)

Abstract

From Preface: Education in India is brought out annually by the Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development. This publication contains detailed All India and State-wise statistics, besides giving a brief survey of educational activities in the country during the year under report. The publication is brought out in three volumes—Volume I and Volume II containing the numerical data and financial data respectively and Volume III relating to examination results. From this year i.e. 1984-85, the numerical data has been bifurcated into two i.e. Volume I(S) will cover the numerical data of School Education and Volume 1(C) will cover the numerical data of Collegiate Education. Similarly the the Vol. II will be in two sets on the lines of Volume I. This publication Volume 1 (S) is for 1985-86 for numerical data covering the information pertaining to institutions, enrolment and teachers relating to School Education only.
