Abstract

From Preface: The present edition of 'Island-wise Statistical Outline" is the 4th in series. The publication contains data on socioeconomic conditions of all the 36 inhabited Islands of this territory. The Island-wise data will enable the users to peep into the Island-wise status in relation to the socio-economic development, it is hoped that the information made available in this publication at this level of each inhabited Islands will go a long way to help planners/Heads of Departments of the Administration to make realistic plans for the speedy developments of the Islands on the one hand and on the other hand to remove the inequality and imbalance of socio-economic life of the Islanders.
