Education in India 1968-69

Abstract

“Education in India” is being brought out annually by the Statistics & Information Division in. the Department of Education of the Ministry o f Education and Social Welfare. From the year 1966-67 onwards, the pattern was changed in pursuance of the recommendations of the Standing Advisory Committee on Educational Statistics and a combined volume has been appearing from that year onwards. This is tie third in that series. This publication consists of two parts—Part I and Part II. Part I gives a general survey of various developments in the field of education, both at the Centre and in the -tales, whereas Part II generally comprises of State-wise statistical tables relating to all aspects of education on which data is annually collected by this ^Ministry. Thus, this publication which gives detailed educational data, meets the requirements of the users of educational statistics, more especially the administrators, planners and the research workers.
