| Abstract: | Education of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes is an annual publication brought out by the Department of Secondary & Higher Education of the Ministry of Human Resource Development. This publication contains numerical data on the population, literacy, enrollment and number of teachers in respect of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in India. Indices like Gross Enrolment Ratio and Dropout rates have also been giving. The All India literacy position of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, for the last four censuses has also been included. Time series data for enrolment in school stages and the Gross Enrolment Ratio for the years 1980-81 to 1996-97 have also been indicated for these communities. |
