Education in India 1966-67

Abstract

“EDUCATION IN INDIA” is brought out by this Ministry annually. From the year 1966-67 to which this present edition relates, the pattern of this publication has been changed in pursuance of the recommendations of the Standing Advisory Committee on Educational Statistics. Unlike in previous years, Volume I and Volume II have been merged into one Volume consisting of two parts. Part I relates to a brief general survey of the important developments in the field of education—both at the Centre and in the States, Part II gives detailed State-wise Statistical Tables relating to all aspects of education on which data is annually collected by the Ministry of Education. This step has been taken to meet the requirements of the users of educational statistics, particularly planners and research workers, who require State-wise break-up of the published data.
