Abstract

All Statistics refer to recognised institutions only. The recognised institutions are those in which the courses of study followed are prescribed or recognised by the Government or by a Board of Secondary and Intermediate Education constituted by law and which satisfy one or more of these authorities, as the case may be, that they attain to a reasonable standard of efficiency. They are open to inspection and their pupils are ordinarily eligible for admission to public examinations and tests held by the Government or the University or the Board. Some initial pages missing.
