Statistics of School Education 2006-07

Abstract

As the nodal agency for collection, compilation and dissemination of educational statistics in the country, the Ministry of Human Resource Development procures, consolidates and provides information on quantitative and qualitative aspects of education to meet the needs of educational planning, policy making and evaluation. The Statistics Bureau in the Ministry brings out various annual statistical publications. Of these, Selected Educational Statistics is among the most important annual publications. In order to make available comprehensive information to the users, the Statistics Bureau has, from the year 2006-07, bifurcated this publication into (i) Statistics of School Education and (ii) Statistics of Higher & Technical Education.
