Abstract

Government has initiated a nuber of appropriately funded programmes for educational development of all sections of society. Some of these schemes are implemented directly by the Department; some are implemented through the State Governments and quite a good many through voluntary/non-Governmental organizations. Salient features of all schemes administered by the Department of Education are given in the Annual Report of the Department; status of implementation of the schemes is given in the Performance Budget. Copies of both these documents are circulated to Hon’ble Members of Parliament, the press, the resource organizations, academic institutions etc.
